Castle Farms Wedding | Lake Charlevoix, Michigan | Brittany + Jon

A few months ago I met Brittany + Jon for their engagement session downtown. I was welcomed by a bright, beaming smile and one of the most relaxed, yet happiest, couples I have ever met. Brittany had a demeanor about her that really left me inspired that evening.

It wasn't until a few weeks later, I ran into Brittany at Target. She mentioned how crazy it was that not long ago, she was battling cancer but that now she is standing here in Target, planning her outfits for her honeymoon. I had no idea about all that she had gone through. There was always something different about Jon + Brittany, a sort of gratitude and joy between them. It suddenly all made sense.

Brittany has truly impacted my life just from the few months that I have met her. I look up to Jon and his ability to bring out Brittany's smile, while also being her peace. I am close with many of my couples, but there is something about these two that truly impacted my career. It was evident by the way her family & friends celebrated, that they felt the same. It was one of the most packed dance-floors along with one of the most emotional nights and I am so thankful that Jon + Brittany chose us to capture it all.

Below you will see some laughter, some tears and so much joy. My favorite part of the day was when Brittany’s family surprised Brittany during the reception with a gift. Brittany’s grandmother, who passed not long ago, always called her a princess. It only made sense that they were married in a castle and to honor her grandmother, Brittany’s family gave Brittany her very own crown. This wedding will forever be one that I hold close to my heart. I hope you love these photos as much as I loved photographing them.
