This wedding was booked weeks prior to photographing it - Rachel found out that Brandon was returning home with enough time to have their wedding. We met Rachel for coffee one afternoon to talk about her vision for the day and see if she needed any help with planning. We spent over an hour while she shared her story with us. Her story brought me to tears and I left that meeting feeling so inspired and absolutely more in love with my job. I own a business to take pretty photos for people, but I own it as my ministry to help others and be apart of the most important days of their lives. This wedding captures the essence of everything I want my legacy to be. Rachel has a powerful story, a story about overcoming and conquering, a story that isn’t quite mine to tell. But along with Rachel's independence and strength, Brandon shows strength in his service & protection over Rachel. I cannot imagine the feeling of longing for your significant other, for months at a time. We often take moments with our favorite people for granted that others dream of having. This wedding was such a radiant day, as Rachel & Brandon finally get to start this chapter in their lives. But, it was also very emotional because Rachel would be moving states away from her tight-knit family just hours after the wedding. You can see a lot of tears as she shares moments with her Dad, her nieces, her family and her friends. I hope my photos can share with you a bit of the emotions that were there.
